It was more than enough to convince Max that Tae was onto something within the company. A slight change in the design would be all it would take to ruin the little drone. But why? Who would benefit by its failure? It didn't make sense.

He bid Helen goodbye and thanked her for her candid honesty. Then he and Tae went back to the penthouse. He made Tae another gin and tonic before they sat down to look at the plans again. He had the plans from Robbie who was in charge of building the little drone. She looked at Pang’s drawing and then at Robbie’s. There was a difference, in fact there were several, including a modification that Robbie had made to accommodate a piece of computer equipment. Pang’s drawing showed the right amount of space for the little piece to wedge in, but Robbie’s didn’t.

"Max, look at this. What happened?"

"I don’t know. The best I can figure is that Robbie must have called someone over it and they gave him the proper dimensions."

"I can’t think anymore. Between the lateness of the night and the gin, it’s more than I can handle."

"Go to bed, I’ll shut the computers off."

He was only a few minutes behind her, and she had already fallen asleep. He wished he’d be so lucky. Tentatively, he put his hand on her waist. She never moved. I never dreamed I’d ever have a woman in my life. I would have said it was impossible. After all, what kind of woman would want me and truly love me?

He sighed and moved the pillow under his head. Yet along comes Tae and cracks open a part of me that I thought I’d shut down. She accepts me and loves me, not for who I am, but for that person that I am. Isn’t that what every man wants?
